If you haven’t heard the Raveonettes latest, Raven in the Grave, you’ve been missing a damn fine record. Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sune Rose Wagner was kind enough to take my questions, and the answers are here.

On their latest album, Heaven is Attached by a Slender Thread, The One AM Radio serves up clever synthpop, smooth vocals, and sharp songwriting. I talked with their lead singer, Hrishikesh Hirway, here.

Damon Krukowski and Naomi Yang are much more than the rhythm section of the sadly disbanded Galaxie 500. They’re also each strong songwriters and vocalists whose latest release False Beats and True Hearts, glows with warm intimacy. And that’s in addition to them being the sort of all-around artsy couple whose relationship everybody has a total crush on. Read what Damon and I talked about here.

Esben and the Witch, a three-piece UK band, has recently released their stunning full-length debut, Violet Cries (Matador). Here, Thomas Fisher talks a bit about the record and why he doesn’t consider Esben a witch-house band.
