You may notice that there are two questions I ask in nearly every interview I do: “Who are your favorite writers?” and “If you could raise awareness of one social cause, what would it be?”

I ask the first question because I’m a writer of many genres, and I know that the people who read music interviews are usually savvy enough to also be interested in books. The second question I ask to give the artist a chance to voice opinions about a cause important to him or her.

I bring this up because I’m hoping to begin a new feature, The Same Two Questions, in which bands answer only those two questions. This way, perhaps bands known and unknown who don’t have time for a full interview can still participate.

Some of you may know me from my other music journalism, my creative work, my personal blog, or even in person.

As a music journalist, I’ve had the opportunity to cover a lot of phenomenal musicians. I wanted another venue to do that, so I’ve created this blog for music interviews, reviews, and whatever else music-related I feel like writing. I will continue to write for other publications, but there will be exclusive content here.
